Cleo Ferin Mercury & Chris Lam

Cleo Ferin Mercury is an independent London-based brand that designs fun and quirky accessories for style lovers the world over. Capturing the romance and adventure within us all, Cleo's and Chris's silk scarves pay homage to heritage designs adding a playful and unique twist.

Cleo Ferin Mercury was launched in 2010 debuting with a collection of six narrative-based silk scarves. The collection was stocked in one of London’s most celebrated independent boutiques, Tatty Devine, and received positive press in Look Magazine. Building upon this success they produced a second collection, ‘6 Icons’, paying homage to six heroines from popular culture. The scarves were featured in Time Out, Vogue.com, Metro and fashion blogs throughout the world. These two collections afforded the brand a cult following and are currently available in a number of independent boutiques throughout the world, including Tatty Devine and Audrey Grace Boutique in the U.S.

Their third collection, ‘Les Histoires d’Amour’, completed in May 2011, marks a return to the hand-painted designs of the first collection. Lovingly depicted, each scarf tells a story of romance, lost love, and above all, hope.

Cleo graduated from the London College of Communication in 2009, finding work with Alexander McQueen and collaborating with Amechi Ihenacho before launching her own brand. Her previous work and illustrations can also be found in Okido Magazine, Brag Boutique and the Free Range Festival 2009.

Chris graduated from Central Saint Martins in 2005. In 2003, as part of the London Design Festival for Grey Worldwide Advertising, he was awarded first prize for his design which covered the exterior of a five story high building. With a background in both digital and print, he has worked extensively on designs and animations for a number of independent musicians and organisations, before beginning his collaboration with Cleo Ferin Mercury.

With diverse influences from retro French illustrations such as those of Raymond Peynet, and the surrealist creations of Elsa Schiaparelli, to figurative prints from Africa, posters and motion graphics of Saul Bass, and classic Russian animations such as Hedgehog in the Fog, Cleo and Chris have attracted a cult following of creative and independent individuals who enjoy something a little different.

Cleo Ferin Mercury scarves are made exclusively in the UK with the finest quality materials.
